The TDA9840 is a stereo/dual sound processor for TV and VTR sets. Its identification ensures safe operation by using an internal digital PLL technique with extremely small bandwidth, synchronous detection, and digital integration (switching time maximum 2.3 seconds; identification concerning the main functions).
