Toroidal Transformers

A range of high quality toroidal transformersToroidal Transformer with twin primary and secondary windings, designed and manufactured in accordance with IEC742, EN60742, UL506, UL1411 and UL478. All types have twin 115V + 115V primary windings to cater for 115V or 230V 50/60Hz AC inputs. All terminations are double insulated colour coded flexible leads, with no enamel removal needed.

Low-profile construction makes them ideal for slim-line equipment, and toroidal types are virtually free of external magnetic fields. Single hole fixing. Supplied complete with fixing kit of dished metal washer, 2 rubber pads, bolt, nut and washer for single hole fixing. When mounting, care must be taken not to overtighten the bolt, as this will cause the windings to be crushed, and shorting turns. A clearance of 4mm must be allowed above the mounting hardware.

N.B. Under no circumstances should both ends of the fixing bolt be allowed to simultaneously come in contact with metal chassis or framework so that an electrical path is formed through the screw in the centre of the transformer via the external framework. This would result in a short, and cause irreparable damage.

Screened toroidal

A range of high grade encapsulated toroidal transformers with a low profile and virtual absence of an external magnetic field. Ideal for p.c.b. mounting with pin connections brought out on a 01 in grid. Primaries may be connected in series for 240 V. or parallel for 120 V operation, The two identical Secondary windings may also be connected in series or parallel giving a wide range of output voltages and currents An interwinding screen of wire is provided between primaries and secondaries for safety and electrostatic screening.

Note: When using mounting bush, only one side must be used. This avoids creating a single shorted turn if mounting on a conducting surface.
