A range of temperature-sensitive switches designed to protect components or equipment from damage due to overheating. Suitable for use inside cabinets or direct mounting on transformers, motors, semiconductor heat sinks, etc. Snap action bi-metallic disc operates the S.P.S.T. contact which is electrically isolated from the mounting bracket.
Available in normally open (close
on temperature rise) and normally closed (open on temperature rise) versions.
The normally open types are ideally suited for switching on cooling fans
when the selected temperature is reached, whereas the normally closed types
may be used as thermal limit switches. All these switches reset when the
temperature falls to the reset level (nominally 15°C below the
operating temperature).
Connections are via 250 (¼
in) receptacles; refer to Connectors
section.
Mounting is via two screws through
a rotating collar to facilitate installation or else stud mounting types
are also stocked.
The temperature range of both
types is from 40°C to 240°C in 10° steps.
