This socket is splash proof when not in use.
The diameter of the front plate is 41 mm.
To fit, cut a 27 mm diameter hole and use three screws. The centers of the screw holes to be 32 mm apart. Screws are not included as the type required depends on the type of the panel.
It is imperative that a fuse is fitted between the power source and the socket.

The diameter of the front plate is only 37 mm.
To fit, cut a 30-32 mm diameter (approx. 1¼") hole and screw on and tighten the round nut (provided) from behind the panel.
It is imperative that a fuse is fitted between the power source and the socket.
Recessed, compact, nut-fitted Socket, white

For installation in cabins and caravans
where it will not be exposed to too much direct sun light.
Use the black sockets with UV stabilized caps
for external applications.
The indent in the bottom plate provides for
a wider and so better contact area for accessory plugs with sharp hot ends.

Accessory Plug

The spring loaded contact tip is exceptionally
wide to avoid sparking and heating. The sharp edges of the side spring
- the negative carrier - helps in holding this plug better connected in
the universal Car Lighter Socket.

This is a true after market product, since
the lead wires are fitted on with screws.
Accessory Plug - extra heavy duty (20 Amps)
Part No. 1240
This Plug locks into the cigar lighter socket proper as well
as into the Sutars marine quality Sockets and it stays in there until you
pull it out. Therefore there is no need for an indication light. A diode can, of course be fitted.
The three contacting springs of the negative carrier keep the plug
in a straight position in the socket and so the hot end stays in full contact
with the +pole of the socket at all times.
The 7 mm cable inlet easily takes 2 x 2.5 mm² insulated wire. The +/- marked screw terminals are likewise large for quick and easy fitting of the wires. The wire for the + terminal is to be about 1.5 cm longer than the negative.
AWG 18 = 0.82 mm² - AWG 16 = 1.31 mm² - AWG 14 = 2.08 mm²
Extension Socket

This in-line socket is the Sutars compact socket with a threaded
sleeve replacing the ring nut.
Perfect for making Extensions or adapters.
Adapter 12mm plug to 20mm socket

This adapter is useful if your vehicle has a 12mm diameter socket
of the old German type as all accessories nowadays come with 20mm diameter
plugs that fit cigar lighter sockets and the Sutars marine grade power
outlets.
However, before you buy an adapter you should consider installing a receptacle of the cigar lighter size.
Some motor cyles like BMW, Triumph and Ducati come with the small 12mm sockets, probably
because the space is limited. Some boats also come equipped with the 12mm sockets and if you have one of these you will need
this adapter.
The Sutars Sockets are safe !
It is not possible to insert
the lighting element from cigarette lighters into the Sutars Sockets.
