NAI Labs AVERT announces a new email HOAX.
This email message is just a HOAX, currently we know of no other message that the user will receive about the HOAX as the initial email states. AVERT has not received any report of a user’s hard drive being erased by opening the email.
We are advising users who receive the email to delete it and NOT TO pass it on, as this is how an email HOAX propagates.
This is NOT an actual
virus. Below is a copy of the actual text which was circulated.

This is extremely important. There is an exec file going around called
"Funprog.exec" and it contains the CIH virus. If you receive it, DO
NOT DOWNLOAD IT.
But here is the worst part of it. This virus is being sent out from
names you know. Somehow they found a way to use other peoples
screen names and send out mail. If you are an aol user and you get
mail from anyone on aol including me that says @aol.com after the
screen name DO NOT DOWNLOAD that piece of mail. It will not be
from that person that you think is sending it to you.
AOL is very aware of what is going on right now. please do not
download anything. I rather all of us be safe than sorry, until aol fixes
this problem.
