Trojan.Sub.7-2.2.
Due to high media interest, Sophos also announces the backdoor Trojan Trojan.Sub.7-2.2. When the Trojan server is running on a computer, the computer is vulnerable to unauthorized-access attacks from network locations. In order to gain access to the infected computer, an attacker has to run the Trojan client program.
The server may add the name of the Trojan file to the win.ini "run=" line or the system.ini "shell=" line, and may also add the name of the Trojan server file to the "Run" or "RunServices" subkeys of HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\.
The Trojan also may add the name of a directory containing the Trojan file to : HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
or even rename the file to:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\InstalledComponents\.
This Trojan may be accompanied by one or more plug-ins detected as
Troj/S7-22-Plug.
